Default How long will the battery last

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I am curently in the market for a new phone. I have a G1 and like it but the battery is so so bad. I will barely use it and it dies. I am looking into the blackberry 8900 and really like it but don't know if it's right for me. Battery life is so important to me and I want to make sure I can at least get 2-3 days of good use out of this phone. I won't really be using this for web browsing because I have an iPod touch. Mainly emailing texting and calls. I will maybe talk 30-45 mins a day. Send and recieve maybe 100 texts a day and check email once evry 2 hours our so and ocasionally send a few. What do u guys think. I've read other reviews and it's so complicated. Some say the bettery is so awesome and they get 4 days out of it and some say it won't last them a day. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Basically, the thing that does the battery in on BB's is calls.
a 30 minute call can drop the battery by 10-15%.
As long as you do things to optimise the battery
(search for the battery tips thread)
you should get 2 days.

At the mo I get 2 days out of mine, that's with texting, emailing and talking, playing a few games and a fair bit of wifi'ing during the day, if I don't touch it it lasts for ages! You can get a battery with twice the MaH rating for $40 through the crackberry shop if its that much of an issue for you,

When it comes to smartphones, BlackBerries are some of the better devices when it comes to battery life.

It really all depends on how you use it and not how I or anyone else uses it.

Do you surf a lot? Do you talk a lot? Do you text a lot? Do you use GPS, Facebook, Youtube, etc. etc. etc. Are you in and out of 3G coverage with the device constantly searching for the right signal?

Too many variables to really answer this one IMHO. I get about 18 hours from my Bold and always keep it topped up when I am in the office.
