App / Setting to Power Down GSM Radio During UMA Use

I run around 15 apps at a given time on my BlackBerry, many of them GPS-enabled, so battery life is a concern for me. I've done all the tweaks to the screen and to some of the apps themselves. I was wondering if anyone knew about an application which could power down the GSM radio when UMA was connected. I'm on UMA for a good 50% of the time (connected to WiFi at home and am network administrator at work, so yeah...). The GSM radio just doesn't need to be on, and I'm willing to trade shaky handoffs for better battery life. Any ideas, beyond switching manually, of course.
I do not know of any application or setting to turn off the GSM cellular radio automatically. I know you can set the phone to wifi only and you can manually turn the GSM radio off. How much power you would save by doing so I do not know.
I don't think turning off GSM while using WiFi will help at all. Turning off WiFi while using GSM doesn't help battery I can vouch for that. Using GPS all the time is your battery killer as you know. That's a constant 2 way radio communication using the GPS satellite radio for location and the GSM radio to update the map. Lotta cowbell!
