Any way to make it so that new instant messages (BBM, Google Talk, LIVE Messenger, Yahoo) have a vibration+tone but subsequent messages only have a vibrate? Seems silly that most IM clients by themselves on PCs have this feature by default yet with all the adjustability of these phones there is no way to mimic this on the 8900. Seems simple that I should be able to get an audible alert of a new conversation w/o having to get an audible tone for every single message of that same conversation. Each IM client has two options within the profiles for instance:

Blackberry Messenger Alert
Blackberry Messenger Alert New Message

It would make sense to me that if you make the second one Tone+Vibe and leave the first one as vibe only that is should do just that but I've tried and it doesn't work this way. Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something? Is this just not possible with the phone out of the box so to speak?

is annoying and i've not been able to figure out anyway to disable the constant alert while typing/receiving msges with my contacts!

There has to be a way. I have mine set to vibe no matter what but there are times I miss IM's because of that.

the latest IM ver 2.5 didn't give any solution either..
