It has taken me a while to get into the 8900 from my 8000, but i am there now. In fact, I now regard it as fantastic - so much so that I can ditch my i-pod.

I treated myself to a 16Gb card and copied a load of my MP3s onto the card from my PC via a card reader. Whilst they all copied, all I get instead of the title in the 'album' menu is the word 'unknown'. Once I open up the file, I see all the tracks and even a pic of the album sleeve.

I have tried dragging, sending and copy/pasting but nothing brings up the album title.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Anyways, you need to make sure your ID3 tags are written properly. WMP and iTunes can do this properly for you

Maybe it was a different number with you, but the 8000 over here was the first of the curve range - I got mine in 2007 it is pretty well identical to the 8900, but a bit heavier.

This files I am dragging accross are thoise as WMP converted and left in my MP3 folder with album titles. I can see the album titles on the card after I dragged them over, but when the card gets into the 8900, all I see is 'untitled'! I will give it more attention tomorrow and see if anything is turned off.

Mistake - the files were not converted on WMP. I remember now, I was given a converter app to try a while back and I basically converted everything I had and left it in a folder.

Each time I wanted an album I transferred it via the Blackberry direct connection, which must have somehow given each album this tag that is required.

Recently though, my employer - who owns the phone - has turned off the direct synch facility, but left us the media facility, but it does mean that we have to manually transfer files.

Obviously, this app I had did not do the full job in giving each file the tag.

Bearing in mind that I am maybe just on the first rung of computer literacy, is there an app in the market that will let me put in a CD on the one side of my laptop and simply deposits an MP3 conversion, with the tags, into a folder ready for me to drop into my media card without any further intervention..?
