Default New email symbol won't disappear?????????

Please Login to Remove!

Greetings,

I bought an 8900 several days ago, and all is very well indeed except for my new mail messages. I have this symbol in the top left hand corner of my screen and it is telling me I have 2 new messages when actually in my gmail, which is the only mail I use, I don't have any.

I have tried restarting and taking the battery out etc

The only thing I can think of is that when I first started using the phone, my emails would appear in 2 folders, the one I use now AND another, which I subsequently hid/deleted/can't remember as it was bugging me. This was the folder in which I'd get announcements from BlackBerry. Not very smart I know.

How can I fix this problem please? I would like the other folder back OR the new mail messages turned OFF unless I actually have some.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance

Andy

I tried that, 'nothing to hide'

Have checked all folders even SMS/MMS

So should I wipe and upload my OS again, and if so, how?

I tried all that, nothing

Perhaps I accidentally set my BB to hide filed messages?

It's a longshot but could it have something to do with installing the gmail plug-in? If you hold in the blackberry button and scroll through the apps you may see the icon(s). If so click it and see if the message count goes down or dissapears.

Could it be the BB App World icon that alerts you that there are upgrades to your installed apps?

The BB App World icon id like a circle with an arrow through it. (If I remember correctly). There will also be a message in the catch all folder for it as well.

Thanks for this link. I had accidentally saved some messages and didn't realize it. This fixed the issue for me.
