You need to download the OS for your phone and install it

Do not use the Desktop Manger program. Just use the Loader.exe that can be found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader. I would also do it with the battery removed and just teh device connected to your computer via the USB cable.

Go to the yellow sticky at the top of the 8900 section and find the latest OS for your device and the instructions for installing it. Follow them exactly and be patient. It can take an hour or longer to complete.

Default Error 507

I have tried and tried to reload the software.
using loader.exe, every time it gets to wait for device initialiation and then I get
"Unable to reconnect to the device during a multi-stage load operation."
I've tried with battery in and battery out, deleting vendor.xml etc etc. any help? please

That message indicates that the BB is not getting enough power to it.
Try another USB port, make sure you are not using a USB hub, or try a different cable.
