EDGE issue on 8900 -

Last night when I went to bed at 10 30 my phone was working fine. This morning, when I got up and it came out of bedside mode it could not establish EDGE.
I tried logging in into my BIS and got the message that my account has been suspended or deactivated and prompted me to call my provider.
I called them and they said it was a mistake on their end. A week ago I put in request to be moved to the BB Unlimited plan and the changes occur at the end of the billing cycle, which is the 26th.
They called after 10 min to confirm that my account has been activated once again.
I have no problems getting onto the BIS site and my accounts are all there. However, the phone still can't establish EDGE connection. I puled the battery, registered HRT and i still get lower case edge.
The strangest thing is, when I enter a wi-fi area, my browser works, my BBM works and I can send messages.
Tech support said they have contacted Vodafone Croatia to assist with the issue and are completely clueless as to what is causing this.
Im running 5.0.0.238 but it has been running fine for the past month or so..
Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this?
BB Support rule #1: When in doubt, pull it out..... (the battery)
