Red face How do I use WiFi if i don't have data plan? - 10-28-2009, 11:39 PM

I just bought the 8900 yesterday and i'm just really confused about how I can use Wifi for free without having Tmobile charge me for using the internet. What are the procedures for setting up my phone and stuff to use Wifi?

So far I had to turn on the "data services" and choose my wifi network and all that but I;m still scared I will get charged by Tmobile

And also when I turn on wifi, theres the words "uma" on the top right corner, what's that mean??

Thank You ^^

Go to:
Manage Connections > Turn the Wi-Fi on.
Scroll down in the same menu, select "Set up Wi-Fi Network"

Get connected to your network.

As far as I know as long as you are over Wi-Fi there shouldn't be any Network charges.
But if you fear them pulling a fast one on you, just turn your Mobile Network off.

ok first...call tmobile and tell them to block ur internet connection... after that is done, go to settings, options, advanced options, browser, then where it says default browser configuration change media net to hotspot browser or wifi browser... (that means that now if u go to ur browser it wont work unless ur connected to wifi...

then just set up a wifi connection get connected and ur done

hope that helps

btw i know all this stuff cause im in the same situiation as u lol ;)
