Default Dead 8900!! Please Help !! - 11-03-2009, 02:59 PM

I bought a faulty BB8900 of EBay thinking I was the master of fixing things, but alas I am not. I know nothing of the history to this phone except it is only a few months old, not been water damaged and not been dropped.

On switching it on I get the normal red light, but when I try to turn the device on, the red light appears again for about 10 seconds and then goes off again and there is nothing from the screen.

When I connect to the pc, it is recognised for 12 or so seconds then you can hear the usb disconnecting again when the red light goes out (after 12 seconds of red light).

I have tried JL Cmdr to wipe the device, but it doesnt work. I have tried on numerous occasions to load the OS via apploader, but again this doesnt work as it fails to connect after loading the software (initialization).

I managed to wipe the device with cfp.exe and this gave me a flashing red light sequence of two flashes then a pause then two flashes.

Could someone please help???

Return to the seller and get your money back. Sounds to me like it is dead.

It is bad form to hijack another's thread.

What version of Desktop Manager is installed.

What OS is on your PC?

And that you are connecting directly into the PC's USB ports, not via a USB hub.
