Unhappy E-mail and wi-fi questions. Thank you - 11-06-2009, 06:05 PM

I purchased a used, unlocked 8900 that was originally for Rogers approximately a month or two ago. I haven't signed up with a data plan yet as I'm always in a wi-fi zone, so I never saw it as being necessary.

Well, now I want to sign up for an e-mail. I went on the Fido BIS page and it says that it can't set up an account for me as the previous owner already signed up for one. I somehow deleted the e-mail he set up for himself, and I had reset the phone. Is there any other way to get an email? .. Or do I have to contact the seller and ask for his information? ..

And my wi-fi question is, it's always easy for me to connect to wi-fi, but after prolonged use (say, an hour and a half - two hours) of wi-fi use, the pages won't load anymore. I'm still connected to wi-fi, but the pages won't work. So I'll have to take out my battery quite often, but is there anything else I can do? I find that after my 3rd time taking out the battery to reboot it, I've had troubles with my mobile service. It'll constantly look for a service, and once I've been charged roaming fees because my phone somehow changed from Fido to AT&T. .. Please help.. Sorry for the lengthy question.. I'm trying to be descriptive as possible. Thank you.

you NEED a blackberry data plan to get use of BIS for email.

You also need to contact the previous owner and ask that he call his carrier to delete his BIS account to release the PIN for your use.

Its not a policy.
The previous owner still has their BIS account open using the PIN.
The previous owner needs to call their carrier to DELETE the BIS account.

I agree with this. It is the right answer. IT Policy has nothing to do with it, as explained by the OP.

ANd the OP has to get a BB data plan activated on his/her device for email.
