Default 8900 Curve Problem! :(

Hi,Ive got a problem with my Curve 8900 and dont know if it is the software or if it is the actual mobile.
When I start my phone up and comes to the home screen it is not letting me do any operations such as press the menu key, access SMS. To be honest it is not letting me do anything!
I have tried to update it and this didnt succeed, the problem still existed.
Ive been advised to contact my service provider and apply my mobile to be sent off for repair. I want to try and avoid this option so any help would be great.

Hmm. Would that cause the mobile to do those things? Am I best to contact 02 and see what they think?

Yes, moisture will cause all sorts of problems. You can try and call O2, but if it is moisture/water damage, they won't help.
