Default Resetting the index of Pictures, Videos and Music

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

i have a BlackBerry 8900 Curve with an 8 GB MicroSD-Card and wonder, how i could rebuild the index of the medias. There is in every media-folder a file named: BBThumbs.dat
I think this is the index, so i deleted those files and restarted the phone, a new file is built, but still all the music and pictures on the SD-Card are only visible if i search for them.
If i open Media / Pictures or the other items there is nothing. If i take a new picture, then this picture is there, but not all the others in the same folder.

How could i fix this index?

Thank you,

regards, franc

Try a hard reset (with the power on, remove the battery for about 30 seconds). See if that fixes it. If not, make sure you have found all the .dat files and deleted. (Some may be hidden. Maybe there are some in other folders.)

If still no go, the only other thing I know to do is move all files off the card, delete everything on the card, even hidden files, and then move just your files back to the card.

Thank you.

The hard reset after deleting all .dat-Files didn't help.

But with another MicroSD-Card all media are immediately recognised.
So it is the MicroSD card.
My guess is the MGMaps folder, where i have folders with very many files in it.
So maybe BB is not able to recognise the whole card therefore.

Edit: 2009-12-30: Yes, this was it. The huge mass of files in MGMapsCache (500 MB of Maps in 52000 files). After moving those maps to another card, the index was done without problem.
