You need to use Desktop Manager to install those files. Check your User Guide for more information.

You can also try installing via OTA, assuming that you have a data plan.

Hi,

To install Opera Mini on your BlackBerry Curve 8900, all you have to do is point your Internet browser to the mini.opera.com. You'll be prompted to install the Opera Mini 4.2 on your BlackBerry. Alternatively, you can also download the software to your PC or Mac and transfer it to your device via Bluetooth or a cable connection.
During the installation, you can also set security permissions for the Wed browser. For example, you can set the "Internet" and "Wi-Fi" options to "Allow" if these are the two connections you use to surf the Web. The downloaded Opera Mini is found in the "Downloads" folder after installation is completed.
