Question Help with my 8900, please!

Newbie here!
So expect a problem you've all probably heard of a thousand and one times!.. But do please help! This thing is very frustrating!

I'm hoping there's some professionals on this forum!
Here's my problem....

As soon as I turn on my BlackBerry, it heats up quicker than a kettle!
I bought a brand new battery for it today as well. So it can't be the battery.
There's no third-party apps running in the background either.

Someone suggested holding shift, alt and delete (for a soft reset)...which didn't work/help. They also said it could be the OS.. but it's currently using the latest OS?! Perhaps I need a downgrade?! I'm really not sure.

Please, if you could provide me with a tutorial/guide on how to fix this problem, I would be so so grateful..

How hot does it get? Too hot to touch?

I doubt that it is a problem however.

Hi Dubdub,
Pretty hot I'd say, to the point that it's uncomfortable to the hands whilst using it. Do you have any solutions for me to try out?!

Return it and get another one. Or try another battery. I read someplace to try to remove the SD card and see if it still gets hot, but I can't see how that will help.

Google this and see if any of it helps: "BB 8900 hot battery"

A "hot" battery is a new one on me. Or at least one that is too hot to hold in your hand.

This battery was brand new in the packaging - bought it today. Also, I don't have an SD card for the phone as of yet.

I've been Googling for hours! :o
Been struggling to find anything of use unfortunately.
Hence why I joined this forum actually. Just hope someone comes along and knows of a solution!

Like I said - return it for a new one.

If that was a possibility, I'd straight up do it. But, I bought it second-hand.
