Default Please help, factory setters but still asking for password

Please Login to Remove!

I have a T-Mobile Blackberry that is unlocked and previously used to be on BES.

I'm trying to give this device to a friend that needs a temporary phone but after setting it to factory settings it still asks for a password.

When I got into options, it will not let me disable the password and there's a little red lock icon next to the word "enable"

Anyway, it's pretty annoying that I have to have a password consisting of 6 characters even though the device is no longer on BES

Should I wipe the phone again and this time with third party apps?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
