I have an unlocked 8900 with no data plan, after installing the new OS will my phone be locked again??

How do I save all my apps and stuff?? DM?

If I install it wrongly, how do I go back to my previous software without data plan?

No it cannot be relocked.

As you are using mac, it will only allow you to update to OS 5, if its available from your carrier. And it will show in DM.

However, OS 5 requires a blackberry data plan in order to update to it.

I read through the thread about updating to OS 5. I read every single details, as i want to update my BB as well. There were some guys who wrote instructions how to install OS 5 on a BB without service plan. That is why I asked these questions.

Yes, but that only works on a PC.
As you need to download and install OS 5, which only comes in .exe format, which cannot be read on a MAC.

Yes, DM is the software to backup with.

You would have to look in our BBFAQ on how to backup third party apps.

I am doing as described in the previous thread about updating to 5.0.

Doing it the ''unlock'' way.

Once I run the loader.exe it is able to find my phone and pin on the first screen. And yes I did delete the file I was suppose to delete. Should I continue there or am I doing something wroing??
