Default No Data for a Week now

Please Login to Remove!

I woke up last sunday not receiving any email. I thought it was a minor problem and thought it would fix itself later until I realize my husband's blackberry was receiving email and BBM. I asked him to send me an email and BBM to which I received none of them. I tried sending an email and BBM to no avail. I am able to place a call and SMS....

I called Rogers twice and after 45 minutes each call...my email still doesn't work....very frustrating....

I read on the internet that it could be my PIN was deactivated....so I called Rogers again and asked them if my PIN was deactivated...the rep said that she checked and can see that it is still active...she tells me to try my SIM in another blackberry...if it works then the my blackberry is broken and I have to buy a new one...I put my SIM in my husbands blackberry and realize that the email, BBM and data is working fine.....

What else can I check? Do you think my PIN is disabled for whatever reason?

This is very frustrating.....I had the Javelin since launch and was not thinking of replacing it any time soon....I just feel like this is Rogers way to money grab and force me to purchase a new phone

help..........

What Network you on? you on Contract/PAYG? have you paid the monthly cost for the services? Maybe ring your carrier and see if they can help, have a browse around online to see what could be the problem.

What did Rogers have you do?

Battery pull?

Re-register on the host routing table?

Resend your service books?

3 battery pulls
2 re-register on the host routing table
changed firewall to disable

and Rogers said they resent service books...I logged into BIS and tried resending service books too...

At least my WIFI works but BBM, email, facebook, MSN Messenger all don't work...

What device do you really have? Profile says 8700, post says the Javelin. If the latter, please update your profile to show the correct model number of the device you are using.

Since the RIM related services don't work, that says that you either do not have a BB data plan or it isn't properly activated on your account.

Are your payments up to date?

You probably need to call the carrier again and hopefully get some one who really knows BBs or get it escalated to the next level.

I sounds like the blackberry data plan was deleted. Your able to receive standard text and make and receive cell calls. Generally this indicates no BB data plan.
BBM and email requires the plan.

Apologies..I will update my profile to Javelin.

My payments are up-to-date. My husbands blackberry is on the same acct and he doesn't have the same problem. Our acct is set up for pre-auth payments.

I don't think it is the problem of the data plan as when I put my SIM card in another blackberry it seems to work ok.

I had the same symptoms when i had a spare phone due to my trackball failing. I got the trackball fixed and tried to use my curve 8900 and it would not get any data. I used Roger's online chat and they were able to get it going. Not sure what they did but your answer is with Rogers, your cell service provider. Trust me I thought it was so many different things and a quick 10 minute chat had it fixed. your symptoms match.

good luck!

On your BlackBerry does it display 'edge' or 'EDGE'? Just to check whether the data plan is working at the device end.
