Default 8900 Help

Please Login to Remove!

My GF has an 8900 on TMob that is acting weird. The screen whites out randomly and the battery and SIM have to removed. She called TMob and they shipped a replacement that does the same thing.

It is not tied to time on or off, usage or the lack of; completely random.

Occasionally when using IM or SMS the characters I am typing disappear. The message is entered and goes through, but isn't on the screen. It does this with her SIM and mine too.

Haven't figured out how to find the OS, but the firmware is 4.6.1.231 I believe.

Any suggestions?

Was the replacement doing this right from the start, or after GF had it for a while.

I'm guessing GF kept the battery and just exchanged the unit... Have you tried a different battery?

Probably the same battery. IDK. Will try a different one.

Red face Re: 8900 Help

I experience those same types of behaviors, but realized they are attributed to BB apps I've installed, such as battery boosters, memory boosters, wallpaper changers, and any other utility installed on the phone that may alter the phone's normal back light, standby or screen lock behaviors in the interest of optimizing memory, battery life, etc.

Use Desktop Manager to go through the list of applications and remove any that you might think is causing the abnormal behaviors.
