ha, that picture keeps popping up for the last several months, but the specs look great.

(Edited and condensed from BGR)

-screen dimensions of 480 x 320
-1GB of on-board memory
-Intel XScale PXA270 processor at 624MHz (slightly faster than the iPhone)
-Built in GPS
-WiFi
-3G support (multi-band HSDPA) to the GSM carrier family devices
-Camera, to remain at 2 megapixels,

I'll put a dollar on a slide-out-from-the-bottom-fully-QWERTY-keyboard, similar to the Curve KB.

if it is a slider, will it be from the bottom or the side? I hate sliders that slide downwards, if it is one of those I definately would not buy a 9000 series slider device. But since the screen is not square that gives hope that it will have a slider from the side of the device like the PPC-6700/XV6700

My dollar is on a slider from the bottom, not side.

That is my ONLY my guess, no intelligence or knowledge attached to the guess, at all. There was a picture like that floating around one time.

that sounds good on paper (or LCD) but come on, a blackberry w/o a physical touch keyboard? No thanks. I have used the iPhone, its cool and all but I need that keyboard. Im an Apple user too, so there is a lot of iPhone features that appeal to me.
However I live in the real world of Exchange and Windows servers and until Apple and Rim birth one device to rule them all, ill never switch. Wow...Im all over the place here....

Bottom line.....it better have a real KB or I'm not switching!

This device sounds awesome and is what I have been saving up for, lets just hope they find a good battery, with 3G, GPS and WiFi the battery would be lucky to last until lunch let alone all day!

I can't wait for this one to roll out, I will be first in line at my local ATT store!

i hope its just a larger device, say the size of the 8800. Fairly certain you could fit the curve keyboard on there and still keep the new screen size. And with the 8800 battery life this thing may actually make it through *most* of a day with solid use.

I agree that the physical keyboard is a must for an bb. I switched back from the iphone to my curve and I too use only Mac hardware and software anytime I can and the iphone was just not reliable enough. If this phone has a slider like the htc touch then this will be my dream phone. I have always wanted a bb with a qwerty slider. But only time will tell what this device actually has.

Wirelessly posted (**Dark Blue 8800**: BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Right, the keyboard that flips out perpendicular to the body of the device to form an upside-down T. That would be cool.

I really hope to see it soon! I have my 83xx, and I can't wait to get the new blackberry. The truth is that if it has a FULL screen, with no keyboard that's visible, that'll be one moster of a power hog, and I'd LOVE To own one ... 2 words.. Extended battery! :D I just hope that it doesn't cost 600 euros with a contract here :P. I'm specifically make the phone companies wait for my contract renewal for THIS phone

If you want our opinion and pure speculation for a release date, based on the information we have, wexxx8217;d expect this to drop sometime in Q1 - Q2 2008.
I don't see that happening.

Please, no slide keyboard! I've been a winMo user for years before I got my curve, and NOTHING beats a static keyboard (candybar with qwerty keyboard, aka qwertybar).

It was such a pain to slide my tilt out everytime I wanted to send a quick email or sms. And having the static keyboard allows for the quick keyboard shortcuts we've all grown to love!

My guess is that they increase the pixels per inch, if possible, and keep the keyboard.

Curve 8300 series: 2.0" x 1.5" (or 2.5" diagonal) @ 320 x 240 = 160 ppi
9000 series: 2.4" x 1.6" (or 2.83" diagonal) @ 480 x 320 = 200 ppi

...then again, perhaps it's a touch screen (although I hope not).

Default Touch Screen BlackBerry 9000 Image and Tech Specs?

This blog post includes tech specs and an image of what may be the touch screen BlackBerry 9000.

At this point, the device is just a rumor, but still, that thing looks cool!

I'm realizing I probably should've posted this in the Rumor Mill section. Oops. Sorry, folks.
