Anyone seen this?

Electronista | BlackBerry 9000 packs front video camera?

I am beginning to see why it may cost $1000!

I can't wait for July!

it would be nice for business, but i don't think it'll be practical for everyday consumers since most would like to take pictures of their surroundings...

I disagree... Having both the front camera for video calls and the back camera for taking regular pics would be very practical in areas where video calling is supported.

I hope they put this in and also hope that it will have quad band GSM and tri-band HSDPA/UMTS

That would be cool. I'm already thinking of getting rid of land lines; that would speed the process.

Video-calling is a standard feature in close to all 3G / UMTS phones today and most definitely won't justify a $1000 price-tag...

It's available on almost all European networks and nobody uses it. I tried it once - it works but it's just not practical.

Each buyer will have to decide on if the 9000 is worth the $900-$1000 price tag.

I am betting that RIM will have no problems selling the 9000! I am already first in line at my local ATT retail outlet!

$1000 is too much for a cell phone doesn't matter what it does. It will not cost $1000, mark this post.

that was an ESTIMATED MSRP. THat is nice the price tag for consumers. And there is already a thread on pricing. Please post price comments there.

I came across this blog post earlier this evening and thought it would be a good idea to share it here to help shed some light on this subject. It makes total sense, but we'll see when it arrives in our hands.

Summery:
pretty much, reasons why this rumor/speculation should be discarded.

I'm not saying it's not worth the price-tag - 3G integration alone makes it worth for me (don't have EDGE here but 3G coverage is excellent). I'm just saying that the front camera won't be the reason why RIM is (potentially) going to charge 1000$ for it
