Yep, they sure could've disabled it by now if they wanted to.

This is free publicity for RIM, a BB in the wild isn't going to hurt them in any way. I'd imagine the person that leaked it at RIM might get a slap on the wrists but not much more.

Kevin's positive review has got people drooling even more over the 9000.

and no way is this the same as stealing a car!

I would say that Kevin has put himself and his site at risk. It is a business and he has recieved stolen merchandise that in its self is a crime. But we all know Kevin will do what he wants when he wants and that is why I refuse to ever visit that site. He is the worst kind of site admin you can imagine.

He tells people that are on his staff when and where and what they can post on other sites. He considers them all employees even know he pays thems squat. I have been told by several that he has even told his staff what they can put on their own sites to me thats thinking you are someone that you are not.

He got the 9000 at a deal!

Lucky I did not see it first as his $900 would not have beat my bid!

Agreed.. They (RIM) have so much hype about the 9000 going into WES.. People are going to be foaming at the mouths to play with this device. It wouldn't surprise me if Jim Balsillie listed the device himself! LOL!

I find all BB related sites useful and interesting. I like to follow the trends and what is coming down the line. Its unfortunate that personal attacks are allowed when to me its no a proper way to act. But I wouldn't buy one off of eBay unless it was a released unit, for the simple reason I prefer not to spend $800 on something that is not the final product and subject to change. Clearly eBay was built for buyers and sellers (although eBay is heavy handed against sellers). Still Kevin did a good thing in getting the BB9000 out there early and in full feature for all to see now when it gets announced RIM can confirm what we already know, tell us what we don't know yet and allow those at WES to hopefully play with one.

Does anyone think that RIM would be doing this on purpose? I mean... Think about it... a normal company wouldn't want a prototype out there. If it did get out, they'd get it back. It's private property that's still in testing phases. Secondly, I think RIM might be somewhat behind this. They gave out a pretty much stable device, multiple infact, because as I recall seeing it on ebay, was that he had a few. RIM would have stopped him, contacted the buyers to get their devices back.

We've seen this kind of advertisements before. Giving out Hydrogen cars for next to nothing, McDonalds pumping out their fumes from their kitchen in directions of other fast food chains to get costumers, The US government allowing rumors to get out to hype up the scene. Is this one so different? <--- my 2cents.

Conspiracy theorists unite...

and why do you think the auction was pulled? the user doesnt have the other devices, and since he cant get back something he no longer possesses, its up to RIM to get it back.

PM me an offer. Believe me, this device is worth a lot.

The speaker is absolutely amazing. When I listen to an MP3, it's very stereo--inside my head, if you will--when I hold the device in front of me. Amazing fidelity for a phone.

3G + fast proc = everything is fast and can be done while on the phone. Sweet!

I was worred that I would not like the keyboard because I don't like the 88xx ones vs. the 83xx. Turns out, I like the one on the 9000 better. The device feels much more nimble than any other recent BlackBerry. They've managed to design it in such a way that it feels very natural as my fingers fly over the keyboard.

The screen is unlike that of any mobile device I've ever seen. Going back to a Curve screen looks like crap--even with OS 4.5.
