hi... i have a prob....
im on that option menu but all i have is ATNT under mobile network and i cant change it, i bought the device from atnt , what should i do to enable edge instead of 3G?

AT&T devices do not have that feature. It has been disabled. There is no way to select only EDGE on AT&T.

Rogers has those features, but since August I have never had less than full bars in 3G

oh wow....
wired.... so if i dont have a 3g data plan im screwed...:S

No, the BlackBerry data plan will work with 3G, EDGE, and GPRS.

Are you sure? Have you tested it against one of the newer beta firmwares to see if it's a firmware thing?

Yes, I have. It's an AT&T branded device issue.

AT&T branded device with AT&T SIM = No 3G/2G selection
AT&T branded device with any other SIM = No 3G/2G selection
Rogers branded device with Rogers SIM = Yes 3G/2G selection
Rogers branded device with any other SIM = Yes 3G/2G selection
