Did you check out the tagline for the auction site? "Toys, Collectibles, and Antiques Market". They probably have put up fake auctions like this on every auction site they could find. I guess the odds are that if they get enough of these up, they will encounter at least person dumb enough to part with their money for it.
I still find it amusing that anyone is spending lots of time searching around for these things when, if you can simply sit back and wait for a week or two, you can go down to the perfectly legitimate AT&T retail store and purchase one. Assuming it isn't "delayed" which is technically impossible since ther is no release date (but everyone pretty much assumes early July).
I LOVE it. As I write this there is even a Google add for an "Unlocked 9000" on this very page (see upper left, it might be on yours also). The text add says "IN STOCK". So if you click on the link, it then elaborates and says that not only is it IN STOCK, but that they offer SAME DAY SHIPPING. Then is says you can pay them $699 for the priveledge of pre-ordering this device. How do you "pre-order" and item that is "in stock". Wouldn't that just be an "order"? How do they "same day ship" an item that is on "pre-order" status?
I can't stand scummy companies like this that make it their business to bilk stupid people out of their money. I do get some small amount of satisfaction knowing that these guys will now have to pay Google since I clicked on their "sponsered link". LOL
