So I am a Verizon user and have the 8703e. I am due for an upgrade but am debating getting the Curve now if the Bold will be available in September. Any ideas?

I highly doubt the Bold will be released in September for Verizon. It's release date for AT&T hasn't even been announced yet. I would get the Curve now and just upgrade when it comes out. Hopefully a OS upgrade will give the Curve a lot of the Bold's features. Unless you can last with your 8703.
