Default From Yahoo! Finance (2-3 week delay) - 06-26-2008, 05:16 AM

They don't say 2-3 weeks from what though. There also seems to be some "wrong product name" info:

BlackBerry makers' shares falter on outlook: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance

Misek predicted a "thunderous" second quarter, when the company's Kickstart flip phone is to launch.

RIM's positive outlook for the second quarter is also buoyed by the planned launch in August of the BlackBerry Bold, a touch-screen device that some analysts have suggested RIM developed in response to Apple Inc.'s iPhone.

RBC Dominion Securities Inc. analyst Mike Abramsky issued a note to investors before the earnings were released Wednesday expressing concern over the rollout of the BlackBerry Bold. He said RIM may have to delay the rollout of the new phone in the United States by two or three weeks as it works to mesh the device with its network and that could cut into revenue.

Well on the call yesterday they of course were trying to calm their investors. They missed their own forecasts but not by much, and still lost 7+% of their stock value after hours. It will be interesting to see if it continues throughout the rest of the week.

They did say "the best growth period is in front of us" and releasing 3-4 highly anticipated devices will definitely help.

RIM's stock was up about $10 in the last few weeks so this is not a big surprise. Just give it some time and it will go up again.

Oh it will no doubt go up, but on a day when a 100% growth was announced over last year the stock price falling 7% is a bit rough. the 9000 launch, the 9100 launch, and the 9500 launch will definitely add subscribers. Lets see if they can get them out this quarter.

The money rakers who are working the market today are not pleased with 100% growth and hammer a stock over $.01, they hammer Apple for unknown reasons, and then when Apple under forecasts and over delivers they typically shower them with praise, that is what you call sand bagging. But I'm no analyst and could care less about what someone is saying since they are worse than reporters at times. What I care about is up time and the tech behind the phone.
