No, I got to come back, ams mike. Just like lraed74 said, it was started on a bad note. Language was bad, but come people, I doubt you all are saints. Get over it. It happened and move on. And ams mike, if you guys want to work to keep this "great", then start cleaning up attitudes and replies. Hmm, k?

ANYWAY, the BOLD wasn't delayed, but what makes me wonder this:

Has AT&T pulled a move and put the BOLD in August to get the iPhone more spotlight? I think it has. Anybody else think this?

This has already been discussed here. And yes we do think ATT put the smack down on them. They have a interest this time in the iphone

And shame, shame on AT&T. Where does a business get off staging the release of their summer flagship products so they don't compete with each other?

Even if it has been talked about, this is now confirmation that they did it, or at least strong evidence it happened. I really don't' get AT&T. The iPhone and the BOLD are not the same, close and getting closer to being similar, but really different things. I just don't get AT&T unless it is the all mighty dollar.

You wouldn't expect a movie studio to release 2 blockbuster movies the same day, would you? Its the same here. AT&T knows both the Bold and iphone will be big sellers and they are just maximizing the effect. Smart move on their part and I don't know any other phone carrier that wouldn't do the same.

I see your point, but actually good HEALTHY competition fuels sales as well! Get the BOLD and iPhone in the house, then you have two types of crowds in the AT&T stores. Some potential iPhone users go BOLD or potential BOLD users go iPhone. I think companies are lazy in the fact they just don't want to hurt a sales figure or risk things and do this. I see both ways, but when the BOLD is ready or about ready and making it wait for the iPhone, kind of silly.

LOL. As if the first thread wasn't funny enough.

But to stay on topic... I can't wait to see the bold. Let the iphone and Bold release the same day. Nothing wrong with some good old fashioned competition!

We don't know what kind of agreements AT&T has made with Apple. There may be a clause preventing them from offering a competing device in a certain time frame of the iphone 2 release.

Perhaps..... just maybe, they see a higher revenue stream from the Bold, due to the BB data plan costs, that iPhone users do not incur. Maybe they don't want BB owners to switch to a lower cost monthly plan?

I know that a good friend of mine with said iPhone spends significantly less on his monthly cellular invoice than I do.

/speculation

Good point CC_BBTechie. Hmm, don't let the BOLD crowd in and go for a cheaper phone. But you can always return. Might be right.

The new 3G iphone data plan is same price as the BB personal plan.

Ok.. first off... DOH!

Secondly, how does one come upon such insider pre-release information? I've not seen anything yet on the available plans for the fan... I mean iPhone

{This is where you tell me you work for AT&T isn't it?}

True, NO hard facts on the plans. RUMOR on the data to be up from $20 to $30, but also RUMORS on whether text messages are in the new plan or not. Right now, we can't say which plan is higher.

Well till AT&T says it, I say bull. BGR is nice and all, but the site is not a news sit, just a blog site that does get alot right, but also can and does get some things wrong. Just the facts.....

From AT&T, where?
