Hrmmm... Rogers is to BEGIN training for the Bold next week apparently. This has be beleiving that these rumors of the July 29th Launch, and August 8th Launch were all lies. Doesn't look like Rogers once planned to release on those days. Looks like it will be at least another week and a bit :(

Rogers techs have already had there training on the bold, they have had it since the beginning of July... the article in which you are speaking of is training for REPS, aka sales reps, retention reps etc etc

I'm aware of that. But when a major release is going to happen, companies usually like to give their sales team a quick overview of the product before releasing it.

I dont think it was Rogers lieing about release dates, more like people on this site making out they know more than they really do.

Ok, this is starting to get to me... who are you (being a new member here) to say what we know and dont know... i worked for Rogers in tech support, i have friends high up in HQ. they release info to me when they know it... sometimes that info changes...

Ray, i think what we need to do is just stop letting people know when and what is happening and just keep it to ourselves, as it looks like no one really cares what we have to say and if they do they feel the need to knock us... this is the last you will hear from me about a release date, all you guys can sweat it out and just wait for it to hit stores while i'll be relaxing at home knowing when it coming..

well I think some people in high places ,do not know anything about release dates, they just want to sound inportant to there friends . there are many rumors about the bold .we all know blackberry's by nature are fun,trying machines .who has not had to do a battery pull during the day waiting for a client to call and checking to see if phone is okay only to see it dead .battery pull back in business .so I truly believe the bold has been way to glichie ,thus all these so called info experts have egg on there face as rim and rogers try's to get it correct and not have the new smart phone problems that comes with these types of phones .

Tell us all your release dates, or keep them to yourself. Either way, the phone will be released when its released. Nothing you say will make it release any sooner.
Do you think if you stop leaking info, the phone wont be released. Who are you, Ted Rogers?

Cory et al, thank you for posting the information as you get it. There is a group that does appreciate you sharing what you know, as some of us have no connections or contacts, and don't pretend otherwise.

oh my god. I am hoping for the 3rd week of august 18-23. My insider says mass production started awhile back now it's just the carriers turn to decide for the release. If mass production was awhile back like a month I am guessing a couple of weeks until Rogers and other companies start releasing them =). I love the Bold and when it comes out and whoever else purchases one will enjoy it as well. Until then lets respect others' posts and what not. "why can't we be friends..."

i spoke to rogers this week on the phone and they told me 'we have 2 blackberries coming out in september, i don't know which ones though'..

i like cory & ray's posts. quite honestly there's not much else to read lately besides their privileged information & the people who are so ridiculously bored that they decide they're going to respond in a disgruntled manner instead of take it for what it is as unofficial information that has been obtained. which is, like i said, unofficial.. meaning subject to change.. =)

because i mean, well if they had the final word on all release dates ever, i'm quite sure it would then be official.. meaning we'd all know.. because it would be located somewhere.. like BlackBerry Bold or like.. on carrier websites or something. =)

I'm sure once they're out you'll be back with a bunch of "I told you so" posts.

Here's a small update that I'm sure you'll all appreciate-

I was in a reputable Wireless Wave store this afternoon and on the wall I noticed a poster from either Rogers or RIM (I believe it was Rogers) showing the Curve, the 8800 and the BOLD. I asked the sales rep if it was new and he said yes. He also said that they expected to receipt the BOLD shipment last week and that it should arrive any day now. I don't expect much fanfare from this release personally. I'm told (by RIM people) that the big efforts surround the Thunder.

Either way, I think next week is a safe bet.

Guys: Can I buy a Bold directly from the Rogers web site without signing a contract and will they ship to Miami? Im dying to buy it and unlock it asap.

I don't think so but you might be able to convince an independent rogers dealer to ship you one.

The guy you were speaking with was pulling info outta his a**. I'm a manager at WirelessWave and we don't have the Bold listed (not available for order/expected arrival) in the system yet. Only accessories have been listed so far.

This is enough to make me pull my hair out. Thanks for all the updates everyone, even though its a bit of a rollercoaster ride *sigh* haha.

Hi all, I was told that on launch day (Release day) that there will be plenty of BOLD STOCK in the Rogers Stores, I will not take any chances, as I will be there when the store opens. Then I have to resend my new pin out to everyone.

I spoke to a senior sales rep at a busy downtown Toronto Wireless Wave store who confirmed the August 21st date. He said it had been August 14, but was delayed over an internal struggle at Rogers re pricing - whether it is $299 or to match the iphone at $199 on a three year contract. He did not say where the pricing ended up.

I'm in my Nth week of training and NO training highlighting anything on the BOLD. NOTHING Nadda, but I'm not in a tier II or all device group (I know the specific groups and queues but I'm not feeding them here to anyone). The managers are now all carrying Bolds' - before only the higher performing BB Support managers had them or revolving a demo pre-finalized model. OR if they where extra special.

Cory. Many Many months ago we've hung onto your every word on latest info of the Bold release. What bothers me is even 1-2 mods went up against you on your info, and I think (not quite sure on this last part) - the last month or two you begin stating in your 'release info' posts that RIM pushed back such & such - as carsmovies posted. I'm not trying to gang up on you but I cannot state otherwise. I too hear info that its around 10days this morning during training; but I take it with a bit of salt. And no my trainer just didn't get to start training - he's done quite a few other roles and is mucho respected in the BB, Windows, Apple Tech reps & managers. Again I'm not stating the queues or proper group names.

I'll never know WHY you're so upset. Regardless if we don't believe you - remember post history is easy to read up on unless editing is always possible. You MAY, Just MAY have gotten info from HQ all the time - and we're the one's wrong - but to get upset to supply info and us not believing you shows a sign of immaturity. I know because I've been there some 4yrs ago.

Have you ever considered that after the first two bits of release info you gotten long ago was all that was accurate because those in HQ are worried about loosing their jobs - due to them being fed info to find a leak in the company?! Not at all curious about that?! From what I heard today I could be in the same vote. "Worked" in HQ is not the same as "working" in HQ.

PS btw, level 1 & multiple device support groups are leaving the 1mount pleasant address over to YM. I believe only T2 are staying in Brampton.

I'm not claiming I know MORE than someone else - I'm saying from past posts Cory has been off quite a few times, and he NEEDS to understand that many of us checking all previous posts - if unedited - can SEE this. This is what most of us are saying and thinking "too many misses to be on target". Its the way of the web & forum culture. Don't be pissed, just be cool and give a lil' crumble with it so its something tangible. Maybe something only a few insiders - low or high can sink their teeth into if you will and they'll back you. So if you reply to my post in anger - not cool - I'll understand. But if you post something that I can know or will see then I'll see where you're coming from.

Regardless knowing when a release date - what does that really gain you or me or anyone else?! Seriously? Just curious. Unless you're the only kid on the block with 10 to sell brand new - most of us on here will be able to afford one on contract or straight out anyway. Within 2 qtrs it'll be as common as a women's purse to see on the street.

Basically its ok to be wrong, its ok to right - and not believed. If its the later enjoy having the last laugh, if its the former - then hey others of had their laugh or say already.
