yes, but that was from an internal RIM document... this is direct from Rogers HQ... the RIM doc may have been correct but Rogers could have changed the date at the last minute...

Cory, I am a layperson so your info is vastly more informed than mine and appreciate your reports. I can wait significantly longer than 3 weeks personally, but I am interested to see this device.

Does anyone know the max size for storage? Will it be able to handle 16 gigs like the iPhone 2.0?

it has 1gb internal, and since 4.5 devices can use 16gb cards now i would assume at least 17gb

Thats what I thought - I'm catching up on MONTHS worth of threads & posts so "bear" with me here. UMA (hardware supported is long since completed for the past few months if not 1-2yrs of WiFi chipsets, no) is mostly a software protocol is it not? Sure there are switches, routers (provider backends & such - I'm not techincal in this regard), etc but on the HH's so long as there is a WiFi chipset & a VoIP protocol stack (?) it should be supported right???

Looking for that perfect signature, hmm.

Does Roger's always get the phone first because they are in Canada? Is that why all the focus is on Roger's release date? What's the standard "delta" between Roger's getting the phone and AT&T stateside?

The focus is on Rogers because it will come to Rogers first. And no Rogers usually does not get phones first.

Because the release date is up to the service provider (Rogers) not RIM....

At least (in theory) the service provider could push it back further even if RIM is ready

Spoke online to the blackberry agents...they were informed that the device is going to come out in August. It is scheduled for middle of the month. So far the posters have been made and they are just finalising the no. of units to put into stores etc. The campaign for this is large so they don't want it to be rushed.....this was directly from the Blsckberry department at rogers.

Not sure why everyone is complaining about RIM. Its not like they release it to the public. Like a few posts above said, its up to the carriers to announce a release date. Why keep setting yourselves up for disappointments? It'll come out when it comes out. People can jump ship and cry foul all they want, but it won't make a difference. Just enjoy what you have now.

Don't get me wrong, I would love for it to hit this month, but I would rather the carriers delay the launch and get things right, then for them to launch when it isn't really ready and then see the same people post " my phone is freezing/rebooting/lagging. They should've fixed this before launching." Its been this long since the Bold was announced, a couple of more months won't kill you since its not a revolutionary change, but evolution.

Ok spoke to the third agent at Rogers regarding Blackberry BOLD. The launch will begin the week following the Tennis masters series in stores nationwide. It was good to see the pics of the BOLD at the Rogers Centre. Most definitely this will be a great venue to kickstart the campaign. One Rogers rep said that they were waiting for the Iphone mania to die down as this was a suggestion from RIM in order to get their sales up. Following the lower share price for Apple, RIM wants to launch this one properly to avoid the competitions footsteps....interesting but from my financial background it is hard ot equate the two together as they are two different companies with different products...anyhow having said that...BOLD is here for August is what has been confirmed by 3 reps now....at least their stories seem to be in sync.....

Here's the funny thing I went to Costco today and the guys who sell Cellphones were advised July 25th. I went to a rogers store after and they said the 25th. This after all the guys online said right after the Rogers cup???? So go figure... It is sometime in the next 2 weeks I hope!!!!

Really. The 25th and the 26th, or the 25th.

We'll know in 24 hours, maybe.
