Fine, since everyone is making a stink about this... this is exactly the reason why i deleted my post the first time... yet people wouldnt drop it...

there will be no press release today about the bold, the release date is August 7th... my contact broke his NDA to tell me... which makes sense (the date) because its not in sales central yet, once its in there, marketing material will be send to stores the week of the 28th... and release on the 7th... which gives enough time for the plants to ship to the stores

the reason why i didnt say anything way earlier, was because when i was told about the 7th i was up and ready to post... but then someone else told me about that "meeting" last night, and it was pushed up to the 29th... so i cancelled posting it until i talked to my contact to confirm that or not...

Thanks Cory! Any news is better than nothing, and it sounds like you have the best lead on information so far. We all know nothing is for sure until it is actually released. I'll now look at the 8/7 date and hope.

That date is for Rogers and not AT&T.

The target date is July 29. If for some reason they cant, the fallback date, as JS has said, is the 8th. Demo units are being shipped/in stores now.

Just spoke to a Rogers csr and he said that he was told the 29th 20 minutes ago. But stock in stores won't be in till August. He said we should be able to order over the phone on the 29th though. From what he understood anyways.

That actually sounds reasonable. especially from a Rogers CSR.

No one knows for sure when AT&T will be getting it but my guess is between the end of august and beginning Sept.

Actually, there seems to be a bit of disagreement on the date in the preceding posts. Some say the 29th, others are saying early August. I'm only confirming the former.

when is someone with a 'source' going to stop asking the wrong questions? we are pretty sure it will either be the 29th or the 8th...whatever. what about pricing? will rogers offer a no contract price? etc.

Rogers will indeed offer a no contract price. My RIM guy will be purchasing me one through Rogers, flash unlocking it, and shipping it to me here in the States. No, I cannot tell you the price though. You'll know on the 29th.

Yes, I guess i will find out on the 29th...I have family in Canada and will be getting one shipped to me as well.

I dont really ever post on these things but I figured I would tell you that if you go to the official shopblackberry webpage and then click on the Bold as the model for accessories most if not everything is available on the 29th of July for the Bold, this probably points to the 29th as being the day that it is released for Rogers.......cant say forsure but the two dates match up......

As discussed in another thread, Rogers only releases on a Friday so that date does not seem to be accurate.

BlackBerry Bold Gets A Black Eye, Delayed Again

Research In Motion (NSDQ: RIMM)'s next-generation BlackBerry, the Bold, was first announced in May and set for a July launch on AT&T (NYSE: T)'s network. Then it was pushed to August. Now, it appears that the new smartphone won't be available until September.

New information published by BlackBerryNews.com shows the release date of RIM's latest uber-phone. For those hoping to see an August release of the device here in the U.S., woe is you. The best information points to "September 1 or later" for availability on AT&T's network. That's the second delay for the Bold -- a.k.a. BlackBerry 9000.

The initial reason given for delaying the Bold's release from July to August was that it hadn't been certified for use on the AT&T network. Some of the issues undergoing repairs were battery life and system stability. The Bold comes with the latest version of the BlackBerry operating system, which is 4.6.097.

Elsewhere in the world, you can get your hands on the Bold sooner. It will be available tomorrow on the Roger's network in Canada; August 1 on the Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) network in the U.K.; and August 4 on the T-Mobile network in Germany.

According to AT&T's executives, the only guarantee we have about the Bold's release in the U.S. is that it will be "before November 1."

From my perspective, with the CTIA Wireless & IT show taking place the week of September 8, RIM has been given the perfect target date to release the phone in the U.S. Will it make it?

Basically that post just quotes our own BBnews post. As for Sept 8, it should release before that on ATT.

The National Post is reporting today that the release of the Bold by Rogers has been delayed until August. (I can't post the URL for some reason, but Google "rogers" "blackberry" and you'll find it.)

I just called my local Rogers dealer a few minutes ago, and the rep. said the Bold is supposed to be available "sometime this week". Maybe tomorrow still holds true..who knows

Announcement, the BOLD will not be released this week for Rogers.

Rogers being delayed till August is not near as bad as ATT being delayed till November.

I was joking in a early thread but it is beginning to look like we will be lucky to see the bold by Christmas! I was hoping that RIM had something newer for Christmas but they are still working on what they "wanted" to deliver in July! <lol>
