yes, but that was from an internal RIM document... this is direct from Rogers HQ... the RIM doc may have been correct but Rogers could have changed the date at the last minute...

Cory, I am a layperson so your info is vastly more informed than mine and appreciate your reports. I can wait significantly longer than 3 weeks personally, but I am interested to see this device.

Does anyone know the max size for storage? Will it be able to handle 16 gigs like the iPhone 2.0?

it has 1gb internal, and since 4.5 devices can use 16gb cards now i would assume at least 17gb

Thats what I thought - I'm catching up on MONTHS worth of threads & posts so "bear" with me here. UMA (hardware supported is long since completed for the past few months if not 1-2yrs of WiFi chipsets, no) is mostly a software protocol is it not? Sure there are switches, routers (provider backends & such - I'm not techincal in this regard), etc but on the HH's so long as there is a WiFi chipset & a VoIP protocol stack (?) it should be supported right???

Looking for that perfect signature, hmm.

No, I have just heard that it will not be release in july, and will be released in August. Sorry... I'm still trying to get a definite answer on a release date.

Don't really want to add to this thread, but I feel I should.

Manager of the best Rogers dealership in Vancouver is telling me a RIM rep was in a few days ago to show them and Bold and said August 4 is the ship date. He is going to keep me posted as to when it arrives so one can be set aside for me.

But then again, someone who works in Edmonton is telling me 25th or 29th and is going to tell me as soon as they get promo material for the Bold.

Let's see if any of them are right.

Does Roger's always get the phone first because they are in Canada? Is that why all the focus is on Roger's release date? What's the standard "delta" between Roger's getting the phone and AT&T stateside?

The focus is on Rogers because it will come to Rogers first. And no Rogers usually does not get phones first.

Great post Cory! Now for the more important question. When do those of us in the lower 48 states get it? Mid-August?

Because the release date is up to the service provider (Rogers) not RIM....

At least (in theory) the service provider could push it back further even if RIM is ready

Spoke online to the blackberry agents...they were informed that the device is going to come out in August. It is scheduled for middle of the month. So far the posters have been made and they are just finalising the no. of units to put into stores etc. The campaign for this is large so they don't want it to be rushed.....this was directly from the Blsckberry department at rogers.

Anyone up for a fun game? The rules are simple: call up every Rogers Wireless dealer in your area and ask them when the Bold will be released. Post your results back here.
