Default Bold on Rogers at $299? - 07-15-2008, 05:54 PM

Does anyone have any info on if this is true?

BlackBerry Bold for Rogers gets priced, $299 - Gadgetell

If so, it will be an interesting competitive move (dare I say... BOLD move?). That and the Rogers 3G limited time offer package makes it very worth-while.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 9000 4.6.0.67)

That's the rumor. I haven't seen anything but I it puts it a bit more expensive than the Tmo Germany offering but still quite reasonable.

yeah, my bet is $299 for a 3 year contract. Expect big price drops to the curve and 8800.

If they make huge price drops to the Curve, it will persuade more people to not buy the Bold and purchase the 83xx and 88xx series instead.

While Rogers would eventually like to kill off their stock of the 83xx and the 88xx series, they won't be doing that until another new device like the Javelin or Kickstart comes out.

Yes, some dealerships will do this (they don't care, they want commission), but I don't think that the Rogers website or corporate dealerships will be doing too much in the way of price drops.

They all want to move the Bold.

I was hoping for a $199 - $299 range...so it could potentially grab some undecided iPhone/Blackberry consumers.

I'm willing to wager that the Bold will go for $299 on a three-year deal, $700-800 on no term.

Spoke to the rep and she offered me a curve today for $99. There is a huge clearance on their devices...

The bold has been picked to enter the market at 349 with a 50 rebate to make it 299 so that it is like the ipod 3g. This is what the rep I spoke to was informed....

Rogers dealers always have a different price, and the majority will sell data devices under the price listed on the Rogers website because they will recover the lost revenue with commissions from selling a data plan.

Two nights ago I was in downtown Vancouver checking out some Rogers stores and I saw 8310s going from free to $250.
