Good! I hope Orange Romania will bring it also (with the appropriate delay, obviously).

Finally! But does anyone have any opinion on Orange's 3G network? I am skeptical because I have the BB 8820 on Orange and have never had any EDGE access - GPRS only. Is there 3G coverage just as bad? Maybe a better idea would be getting a Bold from Voda, T-Mobile, etc?

Thanks.

Me and the Mrs are both big belivers in Orange, very loyal - we both wanted 3G data cards, she took her's out on Orange..... mine however; is on Vodafone.

All this speculation about Bold's launch date has made me careful what I wish for.

I might just say to hell with 3G and wait for Javelin, which must by now be snapping at Bold's heels.

And according to this, even RIM employees prefer it...

RIM employees prefer Javelin to BlackBerry Bold, slaving away at Thunder | BlackBerry Cool

thats BNCO tho :(

i was paying Ł14 for my BIS service with 50% discount at the start of the term, they dropped the price to Ł7.50, and i moved down and kept my discount, but i've been told that the new Ł2.50 price wont be on offer to me, even when i upgrade :(

I don't know about 3G coverage, but Orange have rubbish coverage on EDGE even in London. I travel around London all the time, and my Curve only got EDGE in Sloane Square, and Algate.

I heard Orange's 3G is maximum peaked at 384kb/s, which is rubbish, compared to Voda's 7mb/s High Speed 3G.

Ironic as in the rural bit of North Wales where I live, Orange have pretty good 3G coverage. Bear in mind that the Bold only does HSDPA to 3.6 Mbps, so can't take advantage of Vodafone's speed, even in the selected areas where they've introduced it.

I think report is good for 2 reasons.

1- OS download is up and running, DJ go to the usual bb site /downloads. click on device software and then choose orange UK and you find the OS for the bold
2- Orange France will distribute the bold thursday and Friday to the Orange boutiques, and on shelves on saturday morning as well. They told me to go pick one up Saturday and it will be a global EU orange launch

and yes, only time will tell

though something startles me on the inquirer page.
the Orange bold handset picture has a $ sign next to the enter button. Shouldn't this be € instead?

Very tempted to jump ship to Orange (if it's true) but I hear that vodafone is best for BlackBerry at least here in the UK.

""The BlackBerry Bold uses iPhone design elements to create a sexy device that appears solidly focused on the traditional BlackBerry strength of email," said Rob Enderle, a technology analyst with the Enderle Group."

This idiot should be sued by RIM. How can someone accuse RIM of plagiarism when the development of the devices was parallel? What a moron.

Btw, I'm currently with Orange and I will be due for renewal in November.

I don't know if I'm going to renew with Orange since:
1) I like O2 Sim-plicity much more
2) I don't think I can take full advantage of 3G with Orange coverage (I would prefer Vodafone for this matter)
3) Will it really be unlocked? In Italy it is possible to buy a Bold for 469 Euros, unlocked.

Orange stores have their dummies and launch packs (at least the O store I was in today - and the dummy looks and feels great, not much bigger than my Curve, which was a concern for me before). The manager of the store told me they're expecting them now, hopefully for Saturday, but that they just couldn't be sure until they physically took delivery - they don't get a huge amount of advance warning.

Carphonewarehouse (the other main initial stockist) didn't have a clue when they were getting them. They said "hopefully" before the end of the month........

I think Orange is a fairly safe bet in the next 3-4 working days, but who knows when the others will catch up - O2 (my carrier) customer support were saying it wasn't on their screens as coming soon so unlikely to hit for at least another month, and in their tech forums the engineers are claiming 3G signal issues and coding problems.

Mm not sure about changing to Orange. Tempted because I heard today that it's late Sept release for Vodafone. What do you guys reckon? Those on Orange are you staying or the network is not good enough to enjoy the Bold?

If you only got your Curve last week, you can call them, and ask for a "return" under the 14 day customer satisfaction agreement.

You just have to call within 14 days of your Orange activation, and you can then send it back in.

Then order the Bold.

The bold has reappeared alongside all the other blackberry phones in the Orange Shop this morning, with Coming Soon. Also, the Flash Animation has also had the bold specs added, with a tag "Exclusive to Orange" Can't be long now!!!!!

Becareful of this, i bought the Mrs a 8320 3 weeks ago, and it was explained to me at the time, that the 14 day return policy doesnt apply anymore...
