Default Maybe a Stupid Question but...

Please Login to Remove!

For those of you who have read my posts in the past probably know that I may ask a lot of stupid questions, well I apologize but here comes one more.

Why is it that RIM releases the Bold in all of these countries around the world, but it isn't being released in America? Obviously they have worked out whatever they needed to work out because people all around the world are purchasing this product, so why not release it here and have AT&T, and RIM make a boat load of cash?

It has to do with the carriers, not RIM. The carriers need to accept the device and each carrier has different standards.

"They" who are selling them, all don't necessarily have them in stock to ship currently.

I strongly urge you to contact your carrier and ask them this question!

Thanks for putting up with my stupidity. I figured that it was all dependent on the carriers, but that still doesn't make sense why AT&T wouldn't want to take my money from me, where as if I were in Germany T-Mobile would be happy to.

Over all as hot as we American think we are with the latest hardware, we are far behind some other countries who's phone make ours look like two cans and a string!

The delay starts with the FCC and then it has to get thru carrier approval. As much as we want, AT&T will not delvier the Bold till it and they are ready. This is the way it has always been!

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

And contrary to what you think when you talk to them they do have to train their CSR's on the devices.

Pretty much. They're milking the iPhone for what it is and then they will deal with the Blackberry. I said this prior to the iPhone dropping and people thought I was crazy.

I think ATT delayed it because of the iPhone. They wanted to get all the mileage out of that while they could.

I still can't believe people think the iPhone has caused the delay.

The only stupid questions are unasked questions.

And the ones where folks ask how to get data features without buying a data plan. That just feakin' kills me.
