Exactly that is the issue and it is going to be interesting to see how they fix this massive problem. I'm hoping to see the Bold rather sooner than later.

I am beginning to think it is all mirrors and lights with nothing but a bunch of test version out there currently. I have never kept up with a release this close before, did the other models from BB have this much hipe and delays? I can't believe this is good for business since I know of several people that are considering going to the iPhone.

Talked to my ATT business rep yesterday. Wanted to change from a 8820 to a curve. Really would like to have a camera so I didn't have to worry about forgetting my digital camera. She said wait until mid October for release of Bold.

At this rate (Rogers and AT&T) I will be well adjusted to my QWERTZ keyboard, before the North America release, if you know what I mean.

Try few days. About 25 people in my office that got their Iphones there is only one left.... most of them were back on BES in 2-3 days. All said the same thing, email functionality (exchange) and battery life is not even close to BB units (mostly sales users).

Sorry, but I do not believe for an instant that out of 25 people in your office that bought iPhones, 24 returned them.

Why? I was on an airliner the other day and overheard two guys with iPhones saying how many problems they'd had and they were going to return them. YMMV

We can all retire by the time they get done branding the BOLD to suit their At&t corporate/consumer style. (or walk to Canada and buy a Rogers)

Whats so hard to believe about that. I don't know of any business user that hasnt switched back. iPhones are great for teenagers or housewives, but not the business user.

24 out of 25? Really? The absolute worst products on the market don't have that kind of return rate, and the iPhone certainly isn't one of the worst. Not even close.

It sounds to me like the usual BlackBerry home team iPhone bashing for its own sake.

I have no idea what that's supposed to mean in context to what we're discussing. I wasn't taking the position that there's something wrong with favoring a BlackBerry, which obviously I do considering I own one. I was taking the position that the gentleman's story sounded entirely implausible.

Why is that "implausible" for you to comprehend? They used the device and discovered it's flaws for BES. For 25 hardcore email users, for 24 of them to return the iPhone in favor of what has worked well is not at all "implausible".

I'm only talking about Blackberry users here. We also have WM users and I know some of them also got Iphones. But since they don't have to come to me and ask me to put them back on BES, I don't know what the ratio is.

Also, I didn't say they returned their units back. Maybe they still play with them on the weekends, I know I do

I'm not here to bash the Iphone, I think it's a revolutionary device but it falls short as a business tool. I'm sure in the future Apple will add enhancements, and it will become friendlier device to business user (especially road warriors). For now it is what it is and that's the feedback I get from my users.

Now, I want my Bold...... That 8700 has way to many scratches on it....

Waiting for Bold is like quitting smoking. You creave a cig everyday and are denied the satisfaction of a nicoteen high.

If they keep this up with the tease, they are going to have a lot of people wondering why all the tease since February at WES was about. It has been over 6 months of "We expect the release on such and such".
When you polish a piece of coal that long you have to have a diamond...

On second thought, I think I will walk to Canada and pick up one from Rodgers...
