With many others on the forum, I too plan to get a bold right on the release day (att). My question is will we know anytime in advance when it comes out? I mean an official commercial-any thing to just know that it comes out on one specific date. I'm not asking for months in advance but just 1 day advance warning. I ask this question because I am also curious if I should show up at the att store upon opening? Will the stores all sell out in a few hours?

RIM has done a pretty good job of anticipating the initial crush of demand with the last few releases. I expect more demand for the Bold than any previous model Blackberry, but nothing like the iPhone madness we've had to endure. And because Blackberrys are primarily (in very general terms) a business/professional device there is not likely to be the same level of hysteria among teenagers like with the iPhone. I think you can show up at most AT&T stores any time on the first day and get one. Smaller stores in more rural areas (like Northern NJ, where I am) will likely see less first-day demand and have them in stock for late risers. Stores open at 10:00 AM, so showing up at noon or 1:00 PM shouldn't be a problem. I think.

Yeah, there won't be a big camp out for the Bold or long lines in early morning hours because unlike a lot of iPhone buyers, Blackberry owners tend to have these things called jobs and responsibilities.

I dunno - I called our AT&T rep. and had four iPhones waiting on my desk. It was easy.
