Hey guys, I'm currently looking at getting my first Blackberry and I'd prefer to wait for the Blackberry Bold. I know there's no release date yet, but my big question is how long does the exclusivity agreement with AT&T run for?

I use US Cellular and really don't want to get rid of them as they have great call quality and plans in my region. Do other providers generally have to wait 3 months? 6 months? a year? Thanks for your help.

You will be able to buy one at retail and unlock to use on other carriers.

However, isn't US Cellular a CDMA network? The Bold will initially (at least) be a GSM device, so your wait maybe longer.

I just looked it up, US Cellular is cdma only. Looks like I'll be getting the curve for now as it seems it'll be awhile until the Bold is released and then an even longer wait until it's released in cdma. Plus if I keep my curve in good shape I might be able to sell it once the Bold comes out.
