| Who else is frustrated by AT&T? Please Login to Remove! I used to be a HUGE at&t supporter but I am becoming more frustrated by them daily. This BOLD Launch mystery is obsurd. And we have 3g all around us where I live and work and have been made countless promises of "it's coming" only to be letdown and told Q1 of '09. Verizon is already EV-DO RevA here and throughout the whole state of Alabama soon.
I just hope that the BOLD launch isn't tethered to the iPhone launch and they have to delay the BOLD release until all the excitement and buzz of the iphone has settled down. In other words I hope they didn't sell their souls to Apple.....IMHO, BB is a much better phone for business apps....Have you ever tried to type on the iphone keyboard? | | Offline

| No sense in being frustrated. ATT has really not said BOLD was coming AFAIK. No official word yet from them. All I have seen is rumor and conjecture by various people, forums, etc. No big deal to me, the BOLD will come when it comes.
If it is being held back for some issue such as battery life under 3G (one current rumor) then I am all for it. I want the device to work, not have to charge it several times a day. Battery was a real issue for the Blackjack when it was released. So bad in fact, that you got 2 batteries for it.
You can always switch to Verizon if high speed is that much an issue for you. Personally, I don't think it makes that much difference on a handheld. Now if you tether, you will see a difference.
I agree that the BB is a better business device, but there are probably more consumers out there than business people, hence the big push for the iPhone. | | Offline

| I'm happy with AT&T. As for the Bold as the previous poster said...better good than soon.

AT&T wants to make as much money as they can off of their prized Apple toy before they release a competitor onto the market. The good news is that AT&T is supposed to be getting a sizable shipment of iPhones to feed the consumer. Just hold out a little longer... it'll be worth it. | | Offline

AT&T have yet to say when they will release the Bold (same as Rogers). There are a couple of people on this site who like to think they have the inside scoop when it is obvious they don't. Dont let the FIRM DATES they are spouting get to you. The Bold will be released when it is ready, | | Offline

| I know what he is saying though. I hate hate hate these mystery dates. I dont think the point is he needs it today rather than the games and rumors that are more frustrating. Although the dates arent provided directly from ATT but just give a hint of a damn date. I personally check their site everyday for some news.

| Well.... Their business site, that someone previously posted a link to in these forums, said "end of the year". So to expect it 3rd quarter based on rumors is a bit overly hopeful. And to be frustrated with it is just silly. | | Offline

| ATT isn't a terrible company, but its obvious with the iPhone just being released that they don't want to have two competing devices for as long as they can in their same market, even thought I don't think the two phones coming out at the same time really matters. It is, however, obsurd not to firm a date when the phone is coming out all over the world. I know from other sources that "stringent quality" concerns from ATT have delayed its release to have the latest OS available, which means in a way ATT is looking out for its customers.
Perhaps what infuriates me the most is the waiting and lack of other options. There literally is nothing else to do but wait at the mercy of ATT. You'd think they could come through and say the wait will be over Aug. 18 or whatever their plan. | | Offline

| At&t - notes We are lucky to have a support contract with AT&T.
We have a special number we can call and manage our user accounts.
However, if you get stuck on first teir support they can be very frustrating.
You can get CSR's that can help and some that do not.
You can get CSR's that can't seem to bring up the customers account.
You can get CSR's that will try and help but their system is not working.
It just depends...
Some days are good and then there are days you wish you were already at home.

| US carriers are much more stringent in their testing before giving approval to any new device. But it's tough to get fed up until AT&T gives a date and then misses that date. All the release dates we've heard so far are rumor, innuendo, and rampant speculation. I personally think they'll surprise us with a close date, and fairly soon too. The Bold is hitting the streets with multiple carriers all over the world now. AT&T will definitely want to capitalize on this Blackberry zeal going around.

| I do not think AT&T is milking the iPhone. I walked into the store on the weekend and there were only two people in the store with 6 salespeople to help them. The iPhone rush is over!
I think that they are still ironing a few bugs out and the phone will be introduced in the next weeks, a month at the longest. AT&T has always been rather conservative and not one to leap before looking. The Bold, in it's final form will work well on the AT&T network. | | Offline

| I have an AT&T 8310 that is in excellent condition, good reception, minor wear and tear, etc. I have been thinking I would sell it on EBay and get the Bold. However, my desire for the Bold is fading with each day that AT&T delays the rollout. So there you have it, maybe yes, maybe no. That's all folks.

| AT&T is not the only carrier that failed to make their projected release date. This is just like 4.5 folks. It will be released when it's ready to be released. It's not the fault of the carrier exclusively.
But I'm sure they'll miss your dollars.... | | Offline

It don't mind waiting a few more weeks if it means that when I get my new unit, it will be enjoyable to work with. I want an upgrade, not the opportunity to serve as an unpaid beta tester.

| How can I be frustrated? They do exactly what they say. They take my money at the exact same time every month and for the amount they tell me they want to take. I figure as long as I don't need more than that, I am all set! | | Offline

| But what's aggravating is I bought this months Popular Science and behold, on page 66 there is a picture of gadgets for that are essential for back to school that features a Blackberry Bold and the description is, " A little extra cash buys the features that the iPhone left out, such as video recording, stereo speakers, and wireless stereo headset support". And it shows the price as $300-$400. The Bold is not out in the US and this ad/article sorta implies it is, that all you have to do is go to BlackBerry Bold and buy it.
It's not so much that I am frustrated w/ at&t; but with myself for not having the patience to wait on it. But, the comfort I do find is that when I finally do get one( I am ordering 5 for my organization) that it will be well worth it. | | Offline
