| true, however look at the e71 or whatever it is thats all metal and its reception sucks... i'm sure RIM did its research before deciding on the plastic... and go to a car, and measure the distance from say the middle of the trunk to the pavement, and i bet it will be more then 2 feet. my car is LOW to the ground, like LOWWWW!!! and the middle of my trunk still doesnt hit 2 feet... | | Offline

| A little more caution when multitasking with a device with that price tag would have been more prudent. It looks like it hit something sharp as it has a dent not just a crack. Must be nice to have boxes of them on hand so you can abuse them. | | Offline

All i'm saying is def. get a skin for this phone or even a case. | | Offline

Went down to my carrier today, Optus, to inquire, as they were suppose to be available on the 22nd.. but they're saying they had to send all the units back to get Australian Maps put onto them, as they were shipping with Canadian Maps.. If I'm lucky by the end of the month.. *sigh*
Good thing is unlimited data & emails for $79/m + $10/m for the handset..
Anyone know if Sandisk have released the 16gb MicroSD cards yet? or is 8gb the best we can get at present time?

| Looks like a little over two feet to me. Hard to tell as physics are at work here and alot depends on how it landed. If the Bold is that fragile at two feet, we will see AT&T cancel their insurance plan again! | | Offline

Yeah, I can't imagine seeing them opening up every single box to load up proper maps, I wish that happened, then I could ask for a 10% discount for an open box.

| yeah, need to see if its just a bad drop or if it is that fragile. I agree that you should be really careful but the pictures look bad, especially after reading the review of the build quality.

| it appears that the BB hit on a sharp corner. If you look at the pics, it looks like there is a "line" cutting across (perpendicular to) the crack on the top of the BB. Certainly looks ugly. Hard to say it was a materials defect. it also looks like it slid a bit as well.
