Default Bought from Orange UK - no maps installed!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all

I bought my Bold on Saturday and when I got home, realised that no maps are installed.

I've read how to hack previous versions but this wont work.

If I try to download "OverTheAir", this fails using www blackberry com/maps I get:

BlackBerry Maps
Unsupported Device

Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry Maps.

BlackBerry Maps download is only available on devices running device software v4.1 or v4.2.x.. BB Bold is running 4.6.x.

What is weird is that when I go to Options > Advanced Options. Maps is listed and I can click on it and it says:

Default Service: BlackBerry Maps - EU

But there just isn't any icon to access it.

Does anyone have any idea's how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Have you tried the hack? Orange disables BB Maps so that they can sell you their own map product. If the hack doesn't work we'll probably have to wait until someone creates a hack for OS 4.6.

You might want to try Google Maps - it works on my Bold.
