Post 9000 with AT&T card in Tokyo

Please Login to Remove!

I just setup a phone to goto Japan. We rented an 8707g. When the phone arrived today, it was running on the Cingular network. I EA'd the device and registered it with our BES.

Once the 9000 comes out in the US, will someone with an AT&T account be able to goto Tokyo and step off the plane and be able to roam with the International Data Plan?

Thx...

H.

If it works with the 8707g, then it will work with the 9000.

Ok, that much I figured out. I guess what I am really asking is if this vendor we rented from has some agreement with a carrier and the 8707 when running show Cingular, (it does not have a branded Cingular Sim Card but shows 02) would the question be that next month when these managers go to Toyko could we send them with an AT&T tri band device we own and would it work without renting the 8707? I will call our AT&T Rep tomorrow but this is again all leading to when AT&T decides to release the 9000 Bold.

Have you any experience with someone using an AT&T account in Toyko on a tri band phone?

H.

No SIM card swapping needed.
So, hopefully with the capability of the BB Bold all that is needed is international roaming and the right phone...

Thanks...
