Default Official Blackberry 9000 Canada Launch Thread

I guess I should start a new thread on this since it is officially available.

There is currently no press releases by Rogers or RIM but the Blackberry Bold is available on Rogers business site here. On the Consumer site it's here. Listed are the official price plans. Everything is $599. Featured price is $399 with a 3 year contract. There is no 2 year deal as speculated, it appears.

Enjoy. It's been a long time coming.
Santo

P.S. Thanks to mommyx3 for the consumer link

Anyone know if existing rogers blackberry customers (like me) are able to get the bold for $399 as well?

The price will probably depend if you are otherwise eligable for an upgrade. My Blackberry is an 8700 which I got a while ago and had no problem upgrading to the Bold for $399

I ended up with a small discount off of the $600 PLUS an extra $50 because I had a data plan already so I bought it outright and don't have any "voice" contract and can upgrade anytime now. I do have a 3 year "data" contract as I went with the special 3G phone plan at $30 for 6GB of data per month.

At a discount of $200 over 3 years, $5.55 per month isn't much.

I called Rogers Plus at Warden/Finch and they had two that sold.
The Telephone Booth in North Your had two and sold.
I bought mine at Rogers Video at Bayview/Major Mackenzie in Richmond Hill. They had two and I picked one up and the other sold a minute later.

Seems that if the store didn't get any, they may still get two. I just just going to drive to the Rogers stores on my way home from work and found one just off the truck as they got their two. It was the first one I went to. I had called them earlier and they didn't get any and didn't know when they were coming.

Maybe since this store ordered more but only got two, most stores will get two for the first shipment and then the rest later.

Hope this helps,
Santo
