Noticeably faster than 2G for me - not super super quick but it is definitely quicker than when it's on 2G.

Yeah it's a lot quicker than 2G. I say on par with Wi-Fi depending on your signal strength.

So if you put a curve (edge ) and bold together ... it's night and day ?

I find it as fast as an EVDO 8330 which was much faster. I found surfing with EDGE was excruciatingly slow.

So yes, night and day difference in my experience.
