Default Is the Bold actually available from Rogers?

Please Login to Remove!

I went to the Rogers main web page (rogers.com) and the Bold is not even listed. It is all about the iPhone. I know the Bold must be in there somewhere, since I got the email notification from Rogers the other day. So, I click on "wireless-products", then "BlackBerry" but still, no Bold.
I change tactics. I go to the BlackBerry.com website, click on Canada, then Bold, and then "where to buy". Rogers is shown, but the link doesn't work.

Not exactly a great product launch if you ask me.

Try the Rogers Bold site There's a link under "Get Bold".

Also, if you navigate to the page where you can choose to Upgrade Your Phone (sorry to be a bit vague as to exactly where that is), one of the phones listed will be the Bold.

From a marketing perspective, there was effectively no launch at all. As you say, there was nothing on the front page of the Rogers website until yesterday, and when it did appear it was still six rotations in from the iPhone on the rotating flash element on the home page. Worse than that, little or no inventory was available in stores on launch day and many Rogers employees had not been told that it was even available for purchase.

However, having said all that, if you search deep enough on the website, the information is there, and if you login, the Bold appears as an upgrade option. I called CS last Thursday and received my hardware Monday morning. The person I spoke to on the phone didn't really know anything about the Bold but looked it up on the system and found it. Overall it was a good buying experience and I can't fault the CS people for being left in the dark. If you want one, they are available, and are available at random retail locations now too.

Thanks everyone for the responses. My initial post was a bit tongue-in-cheek: I eventually did find the Bold on the Rogers site, but was surprised that they make it so difficult to find.

I agree. There wasn't a launch. Aside from the news releases rogers made no effort in promoting this phone. I understand that the phones target market is the business segment but it would have been proper for rogers to create more of a stir. The phones weren't even available in Rogers stores on launch date. What kind of launch is that.

I agree it was a terrible launch and nothing like an iPhone launch.

Correction: They were. I bought mine from a Rogers Video store on launch day. They were, however, VERY limited and hard to find.

A friend of mine is a Rogers distributor. His store ordered 300 as initial order. They got sent 20. Each rep then got 2 or 3. More came monday or tuesday.

It can't believe they gave such a crappy launch to such a great phone. There the first North American providers with it should have been proud to be. Instead we get a half ass launch with barely any units in store. barely anybody at rogers even knew it was coming out last week. Shamefull

It is one of the biggest botched launches i've ever seen. But yes it is available.

How do i know this, wasted a lot of gas and energy chasing one down. Luckily I actually found it
