Had anyone else realized that we are back to having the same old stand by issue. Basically the screen will turn on when you push any button but you can't type.

I liked it when it would fully lock the phone and the only way to use it would be by pushing the mute button.

Anyone else finding this problem?

While in standby, does the trackball work? Does it move the cursor? WIll it select an icon when you push it?

Someone tell me that I did not accidently put my device into standby yesterday and thought the trackball was broken and returned it to the seller!

Um.....that might be entirely possible. When in standby mode you can't do anything.

Greg... Surely you did a battery pull or 3 before you wrote that device off, no..?

Yep, I tried it with my friends Bold and it was not in standby.

Oh well, my new one is in Memphis and will be here in Jax in the AM!

what device firmware are you using, when I put my device in standby mode

only the send, option, return & end button brings the display active with a message that I need to press the mute key to exit standby.

the trackball does not work at all.

no other key activates the display, and it fades to black in 10 seconds.
