Default Blackberry Bold Screen - 08-28-2008, 02:50 PM

All,

My Bold is on its way from Canada, and I was wondering about the screen quality. Should I purchase screen protectors or is the screen unscratchable like the iPhone?

Any help is appreciated.

You may want to search the forum. Here's some info on screen protectors for the bold.

Mines a week old and no issues or complaints. Seems pretty durable. I'd say it's no less durable then an 8310 screen. My 8310 screen was extremely durable and had no marks/scratches after a full year of heavy use.

The bold screen is NOT glass like the iPhone so if you carry it in your pocket with your car keys, it will scratch! I do not think it is more scratchable than the Curver or 8820.

A tip I picked up either here or on Crackberry (appologies to the originator). The screen protector that comes on the device works very well. I cut the small tab off the top and you cannot tell its even on the screen. Works very well short term until the real screen protector can be obtained.

That's what I'm using until my zagg gets here.

Oh, and Zagg takes forever to ship. I disliked them before I ordered from them, but now that I have there is another reason I ordered last Wednesday (the 20th) and it's now Friday (the 29th) and it still didn't arrive. I realize I'm in Toronto and they're in the states but it shouldn't take two weeks to get something as small and light as a screen protector over here...

BSE shipping was way faster, yet another reason to go with them (too bad no Bold skin yet..)

As gorgeous as this display is, I bought an Invisible Shield from Zagg. I usually run my devices naked, but once you look at the screen, you will want to protect it.
