Default Bubbles in my Bold!!!

Please Login to Remove!

I went and bought a Bold yesterday from a local Rogers retail store downtown Toronto. I checked it out before I left the store and was very happy with it. Got it home, took of the screen protector and found two somewhat small air bubbles but very noticeable under the screen, they aren't that big but they are in the top corner and its all that I can look at. I know little things should not bother me but I'm that type of person.

I returned two curves that I bought because lots of dust was trapped under the screen on the earlier production units back in the day.

Now I buy a Bold and have bubbles under it. There is no way that a product of this quality, especially in the screen (one of the biggest selling points on the new unit) should have imperfections in it.

What a pain in the ass

I was going to take it back today but the store is closed till Tuesday. I barely used it but I did spend 45 minutes on the phone with *611 rogers to fix some data problems.

I sure hope they dont give me any grief when I go in Tuesday morning. For any of you buying these in the near future make sure you peel off the plastic screen protector and fully examine the screen wheile the unit is OFF (black screen) and ON with some colour on it. I should have looked at it more carefully

Anyone else seen this on their units? I took a picture of it, crappy picture taken on my curve but you get the idea.

That sucks! Definitely take it back. There should be no flaws like that. I do hope it's the exception, just a bogus one, and not a trend in quality control.

I do not feel so bad about my roller ball not working, returning what you want hurts. I am sure Rogers will make it right. No bubbles here, the screen is really one of the nicest improvements. It is way blacker than the previous RIM devices. Make sthe older screen look grey in comparison.

Yeah, I messed around with it a little more tonight and its clearly not sealed well on that side where the bubbles are. Weird.

Well looking forward to getting a new one. From the few hours I played with it I really like it. Some getting used to coming from a curve but most changes and enhancments seem great.
