Does anyone know the functions of the slids (top and upper left and right side) and the two holes at the bottom?

The top three slits are the speaker ports. One of the bottom holes is the microphone, the other, not too sure..

The two metal ovals on the bottom sides are the charging cradle contacts. (I know you were asking about the holes, though .... )

There is a lanyard loop. It is on the bottom right. If you take the battery cover off you will see where the loop attaches to.
