Default Colorware?

Please Login to Remove!

As I sit here patiently waiting form my BOLD, I have nothing else to do but think about the accessories and programs that will suit my needs.

I have seen some picots of Curves that have been customized by colorware, and they look really good. The people at colorware claim the coatings are scratch resistant. If that really the case, if it is, this is a nice alternative to cases and skins because there would be no added girth to this already bulky device.

Has anyone done this to their device, and how durable is the coating? If you have done this, can you post up a pic of what you had done, or would do?

You can go on their site, select your model, and select different finishes to see what it would look like. Their photo galleries are definitely worth a browse colorwarepc.com

Colorware is expensive, easy to spend 250 or more. They bake the coating on, it isn't stickers

Question about the skin. What is it? Lol. I mean what is it made out of, is it clear, plastic?

I predict the last thing you will want to do when you get your new Bold is to send it off to some thrid party to have it taken apart and painted.

Well, they actually know what they are doing. They have done it for a lot of people, and I may not know the process of how they do it, but if anything, they have the proper tools to disassemble the faceplates. No need to feel insecure about doing it....

Boy Genius is having one "Colorwared". Personally, I don't like the look, but hey, variety is the spice of life, no?

In Spanish they say "Para los gustos, los colores" which means, for whatever your likes, there are colors. I think that this company actually does that I saw another company which interests me a lot more. They actually coat it inside and out so then it's 100% waterproof. They take the phone to water, take it into the shower and ACTUALLY STILL USE IT! Wow, huh? hehe. I want that I want to go take showers with my phone and continue to text! hehe. My BB and I will NEVER be separated .

Colorware does a really good job. But the are expensive, and more importantly take every day of the 3 weeks they say they will to return the BB to you.

Here are some relevant threads:

HowardForums: Your Mobile Phone Community & Resource - Is anyone sending their BB in to colorware?

Like the others said, what floats your boat.

SO when you finally get your Bold are you going to send it off that day or maybe the next day for 3 weeks?

While a color change is interesting I suppose, does anyone know of a company that can replace the case with something stronger? Steel would be my preference.

This is a great business idea!

Steel will greatly affect the reception and other things.

Yep, even the iPhone people replaced the metal back on the iPhone with plastic on the iPhoneII.

Reception would be nil if the case was metal.

Not a good business idea!
