Default New Message Icon shows unread items but... - 09-04-2008, 11:34 PM

Hi. New to the forum...

I have a Rogers unlocked Bold and am using the AT&T network in NYC. My situation is that I see the message icon at the top of the home page showing 2 unread messages. Also, the Yahoo Mail folder shows "(2)" unread messages.

The problem is that all the messages in the Yahoo mail folder have been marked read. I've checked all saved folders, inboxes, SMS boxes, etc. and can't find the unread messages!

Has anyone encountered this problem? I'm not a BB noob but have been unable for the past few hours to solve my problem. Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried rebooting the device by removing the battery? Also, check in "Saved Messages." While in Messages, hit the menu key and select "view saved messages."

Thanks for the reply John.

Amazing! I tried everything but the hard reset and it worked!!! I wouldn't have thought that the BB OS was buggy that way...

Thanks again.

Most likely you had some images in an html email that didn't fully download before you deleted the email. There is a similar bug in OS 4.5.

I've got this same issue. Just upgraded to 4.5.0.55.

All my messages are clear, and I show 2 unread messages. I've hardbooted the device, but the indicator is still there. Checked all folders and saved messages (which I usually don't ever do).

What's the dealio?

Just found out the issue. A hint for anyone else having this issue. Be sure you "unhide" the "Messages" folder. I usually break out my messaging services individually, so I had this hidden.

When I updated, the activation notifications went into another folder that wasn't covered by SMS, MMS, or my e-mail accounts. Very interesting, but something to check for everyone.
