Question VERY slow Camera and Video, poor quality

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, do you all also find the camera and video features of the Bold very slow?
On mine, opening the camera application is somewhat slow, but taking pictures is even slower. What is even slower is the video camera app. A good 10-15 seconds go by after I click on the video icon to start recording before it actually records anything at all. the video quality is quite poor and pixelated (even though I have the highest quality settings chosen), my Nokia N81 which also has a 2MP camera blows the bold away in video recording quality.

This so far has been the only let down for me as far as the bold is concerned.

which firmware are you on? The quality of the camera and video recorder on my bold is fairly decent.

.150
It's fair, not better than other 2MP devices out there. What bugs me the most is how slow the camera and video camera are...like I said, up to 15 seconds lag between pressing record and the actual start of the recording.

same here... ok in good bright daylight conditions but with flash or cloudy day pictures are extremely poor and grainy... quality is about 10 times worse than on my previous pearl and curve in my opinion which is a major disappointment.

Quality is not great but I don't really mind. Mega pixels are failry irrellevant when the light is coming through such a small lens.

However I have no noticeable delays on video and taking pics and I'm on 1.26, recording starts as soon as I press the button. Do you have something running int he background or maybe storing to a difficult location on the phone?

I'm really disappointed with the camera too. Honestly my Pearl took better shots (and that's not saying much).

I'm running .150. Hopefully it will improve with firmware updates...

I agree..i took a video shot and its not the best out there....I've seen other phones with better quality!

They should of made the BOLD 3MP! Not sure why they didn't if it has the power processor
